From October 23 to 27, QNP (Québec Net Positif) had the privilege of leading a series of training sessions dedicated to sector-based manpower committees (CSMOs) as part of the Pôle d’expertise en transition verte, coordinated by EnviroCompétences.

In collaboration with our partner Pôle d’expertise en transition verte, Rachel Lefrancois, Project Analyst, and Anne-Josée Laquerre, General Manager and co-initiator of QNP, offered three customized training courses: the same course in three versions, adapted to the reality of CSMOs in the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors.

One training course, three sector-specific versions

Each course drew on exclusive data from the QNP Quebec Business Transition Barometer, pedagogical tools, knowledge gained from QNP’s collaborative action-research initiatives, and concrete examples of climate action by Quebec companies, by sector.

  • Service sector: An inspiring first training session, focusing on windows of opportunity and companies already Committed to change. The discussions led to the identification of concrete avenues to help the entire sector take another step towards transition.
  • Secondary sector: A training session featuring examples of Quebec companies integrating green strategies into their production processes. Collaboration, innovation and leadership were at the heart of the discussions to inspire a sustainable transformation of the manufacturing sector.
  • Primary sector: A collective reflection on the reality of a green transition anchored in activities with a real impact on the environment and, at the same time, at the heart of regional economies, where every improvement counts. Discussions highlighted the importance of organizational culture as a lever for change, and the relevance of equipping SMEs with environmental expertise, with an influence on operations and value chains.

Everywhere, the same recognition: relevant content, dynamic exchanges, concrete tools and a high satisfaction rate, as evidenced by this cloud of words at the end of the first session:

Working together to transform Quebec’s economy

Beyond the immediate results, this first collaboration with the Pôle de la Transition Verte and EnviroCompétences perfectly illustrates the relevance of QNP’s training offer for those who support SMEs. This training offer is in line with our mission:

Create winning conditions for SMEs to multiply their climate actions while seizing new business opportunities.

By equipping CSMOs – key partners in training and skills development in all sectors of the economy – QNP is helping to integrate climate issues into the ongoing training of SMEs, and to strengthen the capacity of the Quebec labor network to take action in the face of green transformation.

What next?

The foundations have been laid for future collaboration with CSMO member SMEs, to continue disseminating knowledge, sharing inspiring practices and mobilizing the entire ecosystem towards a low-carbon and net-positive economy.
