Data for SME resilience

QNP joins forces with IRIU for VILLE_IA
On August 28, theInstitut de la résilience et de l’innovation urbaine (IRIU ) launched VILLE_IA, the most ambitious artificial intelligence project ever carried out for and with Quebec cities(read the press release).
This project brings together 12 cities, one region and some 50 partner organizations – including QNP – to develop ethical and sovereign decision-making tools, anchored in climate and adaptation data.
QNP’s role in VILLE_IA: integrating the perspective of SMEs and their advisors.
As the true pillars of Quebec communities, SMEs represent a powerful lever for strengthening municipal resilience, reducing GHG emissions and steering the regional economic fabric towards plausible trajectories.
At QNP, we see in this project a unique opportunity to create winning conditions to propel climate action by SMEs and turn data into a genuine strategic asset. Too often perceived as a burden, climate and financial data must become a common language: a driver of transparency, trust and innovation. As cities unite to pool their data and build unprecedented collective intelligence, these advances can also provide tools for economic decision-makers and SMEs, who drive our territories and directly serve local communities.
The economic fabric of all Quebec regions will inevitably be transformed by climate change and the necessary decarbonization of the economy. In this context, it is crucial to put all our collective intelligence at the service of SMEs, so that they can successfully embark on adaptation initiatives. Data, which already provides clear signals of future risks, must become a strategic lever for anticipating, acting on and strengthening the resilience of businesses and communities.
” At a time when adaptation to climate change is becoming increasingly important, QNP is working with IRIU to ensure that the realities of SMEs – and the people who support them – are included in VILLE_IA. This participation will help to reflect their needs in certain decision-making tools, facilitate access to reliable data and support adaptation initiatives in the field,“said Anne-Josée Laquerre, General Manager and co-initiator of QNP.
This new alliance between QNP and IRIU is part of our Impact 2030 plan.
