Green Economy Canada and QNP launch French-language version of the Climate Action Boot Camp to support SME climate action
Green Economy Canada and QNP (Québec Net Positif) today announced a new collaboration to offer French training to Canadian businesses on climate action, currently offered in English by Green Economy Canada under the name Climate Action Boot Camp
As part of this collaboration, QNP will adapt the series of interactive workshops into French and will facilitate the French-language sessions, with a first cohort scheduled for spring 2026, followed by two cohorts in autumn 2026 and winter 2027.
Already offered to hundreds of businesses across Canada, this accessible, online training enables SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) to better understand their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, measure their carbon footprint and identify concrete strategies to reduce their emissions, while improving their business performance.
Practical Workshops to Move from Awareness to Action
Designed for executives, management teams and business professionals, the series includes three interactive virtual workshops:
- Pourquoi prendre le virage bas carbone : compétitivité et résilience
- This workshop presents the economic context of the transition to carbon neutrality and demonstrates why climate action is becoming a strategic lever for businesses. Participants will learn about the context that justifies climate action: why reduce GHG emissions and climate risks, strengthen competitiveness and build more resilient businesses.
- How to Measure and Disclose Your Carbon Footprint
- This workshop explains how to measure a company’s carbon footprint and why a growing number of organizations are taking this step. Participants learn how to identify the main sources of emissions and collect the data needed to start creating a credible and structured GHG inventory.
- Practical Tips to Save Money and Strengthen Your Bottom Line
- This third workshop proposes concrete actions to reduce energy consumption and operating costs while lowering GHG emissions. Participants discover practical measures, resources and financial incentives to accelerate climate action in their operations.
A Canada-wide Collaboration, Free Training
Thanks to RBC’s support, this climate action training is offered free of charge to all Canadian businesses, regardless of their size, region or business sector.
Quotes
“According to our 2025 Business Transition Barometer, nearly one in three businesses in Quebec fits the ’Enthusiastic’ profile, meaning they already see business opportunities in climate action and are wondering where to start. By offering intensive training in climate action in French, we want to give SMEs concrete ways to take action and surround themselves with the right expertise at the right time, while creating opportunities for exchanges between French-speaking businesses in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada.” – Anne-Josée Laquerre, Executive Director and co-founder of QNP.
“Across Canada, we are seeing that businesses that commit to a structured climate action approach quickly discover efficiency gains, opportunities for innovation and new growth prospects. This partnership with QNP will expand access to these tools for businesses in French-speaking Canada.” – Matthew Lynch, Executive Director, Green Economy Canada.
Registration is Now Open!
The first cohort of the intensive climate action training will be held on May 21st, May 28th, and June 4th, 2026. Reserve your spot today
