My job is a climate job

QNP and Project Drawdown are joining forces to provide practical guides for integrating climate action into the core of various professional practices.
Montreal, February 26, 2025 – As Quebec businesses face increasingly pressing climate challenges, QNP, an independent, not-for-profit think tank dedicated to accelerating the transformation to a low-carbon economy, today announced a collaboration with Project Drawdownan international organization renowned for its practical, science-based solutions to climate change. This agreement marks a first: the adaptation in French of the practical guides “Mon emploi est un emploi climatique” to integrate climate action at the heart of key corporate functions.
“Through this collaboration with Project Drawdown, we aim to accelerate the integration of climate considerations into professional practices across Quebec. With a dozen tailored guides and our interactive workshops to go further, the goal is for professionals to mobilize their skills and expertise in support of SMEs. Thus, they will benefit from enhanced support to successfully engage in the implementation of climate actions,” emphasizes Anne-Josée Laquerre, General Director and co-initiator of QNP.
Project Drawdown, which is collaborating for the first time with an organization from Quebec, also expresses its enthusiasm: “It is not necessary to have the words ‘sustainable development’ or ‘ESG’ in your job title to take climate action in the workplace. Every job can be a climate job. By collaborating with QNP, we are making our resources accessible to a French-speaking audience to amplify action on a global scale,” says Aiyana Bodi, head of employee engagement at Project Drawdown.
Tools Designed to Inspire and Mobilize
The Job Function Action Guides highlight specific, high-impact climate actions that employees in common
corporate occupations can take at work. Each guide proposes concrete actions to transform each
professional job into a climate one and provides key considerations and resources for getting there for
various job functions including engineering, human resources and operations, product design,
government relations and more.
The guides provide a climate action checklist to initiate constructive dialogue within each of the targeted
professions, a printable tool to keep motivated and organized in implementing climate action at work. By
making them available in French, QNP and Project Drawdown aim to strengthen the climate action
capacity of SMEs, large corporations and their ecosystems in Quebec, and beyond.
“At a time when SMEs, pillar of the Quebec economy, are lagging behind large companies in their climate transition, the mobilization of professionals becomes an essential priority to bridge this gap,” concludes Anne-Josée Laquerre, General Director and co-initiator of QNP.
